Humidity
    #1740612 - 07/23/03 11:12 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

I know this is a dumb question, and it's more than likly in the faq's somewhere. Where can I find something to read my humidity. I dont what its called, a humidity reader thing. I know you can find them at like Wal-Mart and stuff, but what are they actually called, what section of the store would they be in, and what are they normally used for(outside of mushroom cultivation)

Listen to ANNO ............... "HYGROMETER"
For a relativy decent one at WALLY MART a digital one is about 15$ , never clean them with alcohol , it will shatter the cheap plastic lens , making it difficult to read .
Good Luck
ps look or ask where they keep their thermometers and such , they usually are in the same area .

i'm just a mouse amoug men,but i bought a nice ditital HYGROMETER from walmart and it rly don't work that great.once humidity goes over 89% it just reads HI high humidity.so i'm not even sure what my humidity is,but i know it's higher than 89%.and some times the HYGROMETER get to damp or something and you can't even read it,the screen is just flashing all kind's of number and shit.just a warning bro.

That is slighly true , the one I found goes up to aprox 95% , then just says "hi" after that . It gets you in the ball park relatively accurately , from there you must apply intuiton , common sense , and a tad bit of luck to be 100% acurate . Besides if you are above 92% you are to high anyways so do what you can to keep air dry enough to read below the "hi" message the hygro displays . Wall timers are good for adjusting the amount of time your humidification system runs , allowing you another level of control to keep the humidity in a relative range acceptable to mushie development .
Good Luck
