innoculation
    #1740151 - 07/22/03 11:50 PM (20 years, 8 months ago)

Im about to try innoculating a big ol' jar of PC'd popcorn with a quart jar of colonized wheat. So i guess what im trying to ask is if the large amount of established mycelium in the innoculant will overpower the contamination risk of the nonsterile environment that results in taking the caps off of both jars.

Yes, with a large ratio of colonized grain there is a good chance that it will beat the contams to the goodies... but be as sterile as possible.

I'm not sure if I'm reading this correctly or not, but there is no established mycelium in the innoculant (if you're talking about spore syringes), and contaminations will more than likely overpower cubensis spores in a nonsterile environment. Why would you take the caps off?
