First poem/song I have completed(?). Constructive criticism, observations, and comments are welcome.

It ends as you begin
to live and learn,
to see within
without the walls that hold you back
inner light transcends the grasp
of outer forces holding fast

Shadows fade away
glaring light of day
seeds are sown
the mind is home

time began to leave
ceasing to deceive
begging eyes to see
old perspectives
changed direction
graced with new perception

within the machine
there still reside some lifeless beings
lacking hope that freedom brings
wheels still turn and cogs still grind
waste away does the entrapped mind

Shadows fade away
glaring light of day
decisions to be made
or taken to the grave

The background has reappeared
glimpses of what was always there
you used to listen but now you hear
the voice of reason o so clear

Actions took decisions thought
the wise man sat and enjoyed his crop
the fool departed to die and rot
