anything beyond the fifth level?
    #1738235 - 07/22/03 02:49 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

i know about all the levels of shroom trips, but i was wondering if there is anything past the fifth level? i was thinking that it was possible that many people have experienced a 6th or 7th level, but are not able to remember it or think back on it or whatever because our minds can't understand it while we're off the shrooms. it just seems that logically, there should be a next level. does anyone think they've experienced a level beyond the 5th?

I have a related question, for chinacat, whiterasta, et. al. How did a thumbprint compare in intensity to a very high dose mushroom trip with DMT smoked at the peak?

To say there's anything beyond the 5th level, you'd have to define what constitutes a level 6, 7, 8, etc. I've had a level 5 before, and while that was the most intense experience of my life, I'm sure there are people who've had even more powerful trips, but until they define what constitutes a level 6 or above, we'd have to classify it as a high level 5.

The 'level system' is really just to help know what to expect at certain dosages. At certain dosages similiar effects are felt by many people, creating a 'level'. I really only consider the first four levels to be somewhat accurate. What most people call a level 5 I think of as a strong level 4. The ego-loss/oneness 'level 5', to me, is really an altered state rather than a trip level. You can find this altered state at any level, regardless of dosage.

If I consume 10g dry of cubensis, the world is going to start disolving around me. I am going to hear voices in my head... I am going to break apart... I am going to be out of my mind... all strong level 4 symptoms.

If I consume 3g dry of cubensis, the world is going to shake, rattle, and roll, and I am going to have a good time. If I sit and meditate, I might loose myself an experience what others call a level 5 / egoloss.

The entire level system is flawed, but it is the best we have to work with. Everybody is different. Set and setting make a huge difference. With all of the level system faults, it still gives a good indication of what to expect as dosages increase.
