Flipping stubborn casings?
    #1738015 - 07/22/03 01:21 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

Hey, I know a kid who had this casing that wouldn't pin at all, not even hyphal knots after about 3 weeks. What he decided to do was flip it... it was WBS substrate with a thin coir/verm casing layer. I was wondering if anyone has ever had any success doing this... I was wondering if the casing layer would give it enough moisture or whether flipping it would fuck it up. What do you guys think?

To eliminate the possibilty of it being a moisture problem try this;

Remove the casing layer,
Dunk overnight,
Re-Crumble the substrate,
Apply a fresh casing layer.

If still no joy then I'd blame the WBS (My opinion of WBS is being re-evaluated btw)

This is assuming no invisible contam.

Yeah I don't know how much soaking a WBS casing would really help. WBS and mycelium are not really very penetrable by water.
