edible hypholoma?

Habitat:growing from wood, possibly oak, too dead to tell

Gills:white, kind of a yellow tinge, but more white

Stem:
white, same as gills

Cap:red in center fading to white

Spore print color:not taken yet

Bruising:none

Looks like you have Hypholoma sublateritium, aka Brick-Tops.
Print should be dark purple
Wait for TI to confirm

even if they are...they aren't worth it, imo.

Flavour isn't too important to me, it's more about being able to collect and eat food from the wild.  So just to confirm, if the print is purple they are edible?

If it is Hypholoma sublateritium, Yes, it is edible. But just because the spore print is purple doesn't always mean it's edible.

To further clarify spore print color subject:  Hypholoma fasciculare is highly toxic/inedible and has purple spore print, and looks alot like H. capnoides/sublateritium
