Go back to Chicago with all the other east coast bungholes. I never knew where wide scale racism existed today in America till I lived in Glen ellyn for a few months. Everyone was rude.  Lots of stuck up rich people. And I'm sure Maynards wife wouldn't like that he's got a friend in chicago thats got a gay crush on him hahahaha. I'm just messing with you.

I've found 2 collections of bluing Galerina.  Once in Mill Valley, CA and once while sorting and identifying collections for the Humboldt Bay Mycological Society fungus fair.  Not sure that they were the same, but yeah.  It happens.  Though G. steglichii, described from Germany I believe, is the only bluing species of Galerina described.

Cool! Maynard's obs is similar to yours in that they both posses quasi-collybioid stipes. Did anything in Smith's monograph standout to you or workman?

Anyone who wants to play with these observations will find this link useful- http://quod.lib.umich.edu/f/fung1tc/AGK0805.0001.001?view=toc

Don't look at the stems, but focus on the caps. There are very Gymnopilus-like greenish spots visible. I will agree with you that the stems are purple and not blue.

The stems look very reddish brown to me. When he originally posted these I flew off into a Phaeocollybia-studying rage for the better part of a week.
