if i plant a spent cake outside what does it need to grow shrooms or does this even work, i was think i should just put it in the ground and cover with vermiculite and water it

make a deep hole and line it with scotts 3n1 compost or cow/horse poo if you're lucky, maybe some straw and/or some old dried out grass clippings, put the spent casing in the hole and cover with more compost/straw/grass/shit. water liberally and make sure it is away from direct sunlight. water every other day or two, or when there's no rain in your area for a while.
