I had no idea that you could graft cacti onto other succulents like jade. That's pretty cool.

nice pics Una .

Pereskiopsis is not jade. Jade is Crassula ovata a true succulent. pereskiopsis however is a true cactus.

Growth on Pereskiopsis is really fast because of the large assimilation surface of the leaves.

The whole name thing for the Lophphora genus is pretty confusing i agree. Pupping in my opinion is genetically determined.

I found three types of pupping:
1) Pupping at the size of a small marble. Immidiate pupping, pups stay relatively small and develop everywhere on the plant.
2) Pupping at the stage of a pingpong ball. Pups form first at the bottom to the top of the plant later more pups develop upwards.
3) Solitary growing plants that only develop pups after reaching a diameter of +- 8 cm.

Just a little curious, for how long will the pereskiopsis hold that Lophophora? Will it hold it once it starts to get bigger, i mean the weight of the loph will be rater hard for to pereskiopsis wouldnt it?

Way cool graft anyways..and it seems to like it too..

peace..
