contam'd cakes can still sometimes fruit.

mushrooms can fruit through contams, even nasty ones like bacillus..
it sounds like you may have had/currently have cobweb mold..
but all youc an do is wait and find out

No dino, he doesnt have cobweb mold most likely. And you dont have to just sit and wait to find out if you do. Some mycelium growths cottony and you can tell a distinct difference between cobweb and mycelium. goto www.thehawkseye.com and look for the cobweb mold pictures. If you do have it, which you most likely dont, spray it with h202 a couple times a day.
