i want some history to go with my pictures because of how rediculous my story is, sorry about the length but i believe its semi-important. About a year ago, maybe a bit less i decided to try growing my own shrooms, pf tek, golden teacher, vermiculite with whole grain rice flour. I followed the steps, made sure it was very sterile, made sure i injected enough spores into the jars through the holes. Long story short, with no direct help and a first attempt it went about as good as i expected, once in the jars, put in a dark closet in a tupper ware container that i put in a heavy black plastic bag. I checked it 2 or 3 times a week for about 6 weeks, maybe 2 months, nothing. Went out of town for work for a month or so and forgot i left it in the closet, in the summer being 4-5 months later or so i moved it into my unheated garage, again i glanced but saw no white, or even green or anything. so still in the tupper ware i left it in my unheated garage until tonight, thinking maybe ill try again. to my amazement i have two that are totally covered in white, one that was obviously infected although had a fair bit of white, and the 4th was still clean... now the white ones had mushooms that were growing out of it, other than what the fuck, are these still good? will they keep growing if i continue the procedure? are the shrooms inside good to eat? smells like normal mushrooms...
anyways in no particular order, let me know of any red flags you see

yes i know, there is still verm on the bits, if you need better pics let me know i will try to get better ones

So how old are these cakes? Why did you put new jars in a tubberware tub? Was it air tight? Black bag? You are all over the place with that story. Looks like something worked though

These cakes are appx 10 months old, maybe even longer, could be a year, been a long ass time. Just what i read, seemed easier to keep them all together, yes it was air tight, yes black garbage bag, sorry, i tried. there was also tin foil on the jars, 4 total, 2 i think successes, 1 fail, one empty, i have now put them in a non air tight tupperware, clear with hydrated pearlite. questions? helpful comments?

See what happens. Surprised they made it that far. Pick those old ass mushrooms off the cakes. never leave any colonizing jar in an air tight container nor a trash bag. Those cakes could all be contaminated but who knows
