I would prolly get the true laminar. But that's because i think the other may not actually be laminar and it may be like a hurricane.

The enclosed work space does not seem to be as important as the laminar flow. As a matter of fact, enclosures have the potential of creating eddies that mix dirty air in with your clean air.

I would hate to spend money on something and it not be right, when i could spend a little more and know its right. I know I hate it because i've experienced it many times.

Your jumping into things too quick tho.

There has to be something not right here. No way that thing puts out a Laminar Flow and it's being sold for less than $400...or the other one for $200.

The filters are just too thin or something....I wish someone else with more experience in flow hoods would chime in and help you. In my head that's just too good to be true.

You need info on the blowers and the filters tho.

There are two blowers inside well fans actually.  And it has an ulpa filter not hepa which has a higher filtration capacity.  I have been reading though that true laminar flow hoods look like this.

It is actually being sold for more but I talked the guy down.  He is selling stuff off from his business.  These days you can find stuff for less with the economy.  Also I looked up the

This may be a killer deal.  I am not sure if it needs new filters that would cost an arm and a leg I am sure.  It takes two hepas.

All I know is you can build your own 24x24 Laminar Flow Hood for about $300/$350 using the teks/links here, and you will know its right, and new and works properly.

I have to agree 100%. But some people aren't very handy and don't have a place to do work.

The newer model is 230 the older one is 110.  Yea it is heavy.  I will call manufacturer tomorrow and get a heads up on specifics.  I think for me I just do not want to go through building one if I can get lab quality gear ready made, all be it used, for the same amount of money.

Are you sure it's a hood that blows out clean air, and not a hood that is made to go over a work area and suck in air through the filter, and then out through the fans?
