Depends on the filter material, if you are using post office tyvek then probably every other time if not every time. SFD's and syringe filters will almost last indefinitely

Wheps I assumed SFD (synthetic filter discs) were used.

yeah, this totally depends on the type of filter. From the filter materials ive used, Ive had none show signs of breakdown or anything like that even after about PCing them 3 or 4 times.
I will note though, that EZ felt SUCKS as a LC filter material. .... Tyvek and polyfill are better filter materials, IMO. If your willing to spend some big money, go for whatmans. I doubt they are as superior as people bark them up to be, but for the sake of sterility and LCs, they are a small price to pay ($2-3 a piece.. O.o)
And NineInchNails, Ive been following your Simple Tyvek Lids tek (found it through ShroomTalk)... By far my favorite of the simple lid teks, love it! Ive got maybe 40 jars going with it and theyve been going solid! Thanks!

Why do you say easy-felt sucks as a filter material? I haven't had bad luck with it...

Its not necessarily that the material is "bad", its just that it is so absorbant that you need to be super careful when swirling the jars. Ive lost far too many LCs from accidentally getting soggy filters :/
If you use a stir plate, it should be fine though I think.

I rtv a autoclavable tube to a lid and fill with poly-fil, just bend the tube over before you shake and you can shake jars as hell, never had one get wet or fail, credit the idea to either roadkill or agar, not sure which one gave me the idea.
I fucking love EZ felt for everything else, note jar, lids in background!

Well I do not know what autoclave able tubing is but fish tank tubing works fine. I do not bend mine over I just cover them with foil when I pc them.

Bend them to shake not PC, autoclavable tubing is surgical suction tubes, if your tubing looks "cloudy" and soft after sterilizing its the wrong grade and might leach chemicals into your LC, I grow/sell edibles, if I only did magics I wouldn't care much about it
