Sterilizing Fruiting Chamber

Okay, so I'm planning on using a small aquarium as a fruiting chamber but the thing is I used to use this aquarium as an actual aquarium with fish and all that.
What should I use to sterilize it?

Glass is easy to sanitize. The still air box I use is made from an old aquarium that had guinea pigs in it, not just fish. I wouldn't use an aquarium as a fruiting chamber though since you can't add air holes to it.

Clear plastic storage containers/totes are better for fruiting chambers because they can be easily modified into a shotgun fruiting chamber(sgfc) or a monotub.

Guys, I already know about SGFC, I actually already have one but it's too big to set up for just one cake which is what I'm fruiting. The little fish tank I'm using on the other hand is much smaller.

If your fruiting one cakes just make one of those snazzy chambers people build, like a mini mono tub deal instead of an entire fish tank.

You could fruit a single cake in a soda bottle with holes and perlite.

Well my entire fish tank is pretty small...

How does that work? Cut off the top, poke holes everywhere then fill with perlite?
You guys seem pretty adamant about me having a container with holes, wouldn't fanning be enough for a tank this small?

Too late, I decided to use the tank for a plant.

Well for whatever reason it never really colonized the whole cake

The mycelium is probably dead, I'm just attempting to fruit it just in case its still alive.

I think that's the dry verm layer? Also put something between your perlite and the cake (foil).

Eh, it started giving off a sweet smell so I chucked it. The cake had been sitting in my cupboard since May, I just wanted to see if it was possible that it might still be alive.

That cake was contaminated with what looks like black mould.
