They do a quick criminal check, but unless you're a serial killer or a psychotic or something, they won't refuse you. Alot of ex-cons join the army so they can serve their country for the bad shit they did.
I know a guy that goes to the reserve four to five times a month, full days and gets paid 800 a month. That's like twenty bucks an hour, but it's intense training he said. I'm actually thinking of signing up for this extra cash.

Perma, I really don't think you're right about ex-cons joining. Maybe some do, but not a lot. The military is a business, and it's competitive.

cooks get up a couple hours before everyone else, then also usually get to sleep in the afternoon. They have kind of a goofy schedule.
If you enjoy cooking then go for it.
Figure out what youd like to learn or do, and chances are there is a slot for that in the military.

I don't know about the Canadian military, but the US screens cons out right off the bat. That 'jail or bootcamp' shit went out decades ago.

I have 4 friends that are in the army.. It can be a really good opprotunity to learn telecomunications skills.. I also have 3 friends who are in infantry units.. They all party and smoke weed and basically just like fighting and shooting guns so why now get paid for it.. I also have a friend who is Candadian but he's in the US army rangers.. He teaches knife fighting and hand to hand combat and works as a paramedic when he's not on call..

I don't know. I think it's just Army, Navy, and maybe Air Force.
Ask Rono. Rono was in the Canadian Navy, I think.

Army, Navy and Air Force
Although our Army is under funded and spread very very thin and we could not defend our country if we came under attack
The navy is tiny and has VERY old equipment (Sea King Helicopters are literally falling apart) but we do have three used subs with some dents in them.
The air force has jets 20 years behind NATO and US forces standards and are currently going under renovation so that we can at the very least communicate with other countries air forces jets.
Don't get me wrong I love Canada but our military is a joke these days. I still wanna join, but you know after WW2 Canada had a standing army of 1,000,000 solders. That was a 1/10 of the total population of Canada. We had the second larget navy in the world and I think we were in the top 5 air forces of the world. Don't quote me on that last one.

The 2.5km in 12 minutes, is the only hard part for me. I'm a out of shape smoker. I've been kinda jogging at night to kinda get in shape, though.
So after basic training, I pick my military job??? Is there a good chance I'll be sent to battle after my basic training??? Is it easy to join. Like do I sign a sheet, and start the next day???
