    #17325821 - 12/03/12 10:14 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

so i have no camera for a pic.i will explain the best i can.i just made two casings out of two one pint jars of creeper.my other jars were starting to contam because of the time its been taking.these last two were at 75 percent and over a month old.growth has been sooo slow.anyway i cut away the uncolonized substrate and put each jar in its own tupperware container.a layer of verm in the bottom and on top of the leveled out spawn.blaktaped the sides to about halfway up.question is how long should i expect them to fully colonize?im going to patch the first sings of mycelium one time then fruit the minute its all white again.these are brf cakes and will be grown in a shotgun style FC.any ideas on a yield?i know it wont be much just wondern what i can expect.after all i have thrown out 8 other jars and a month of my time.any advice or tips are very much appreciated.happy shroomin

well, for starters 1 pint is too big. ideal is 1./2 pint for cakes.
im somewhat confused on what you mean by you casing your cakes. I also think you are confusing  two different things;casing with "spawned to bulk" or applying a dry verm layer. Casing is the top layer applied to a bulk substrate much like frosting on a cake. But  casing is not needed for CUBE's.  If you simply covered you "cake" in verm and put it in a tupperware container you need to make a SGFC.
