Yes it is possible to get a sterlie print from the field. Bring some sterile half pints with lids with you.. Use a thumbtack to grab the cap and cut off the stem. Quickly place it in the jar. You should be good. Im sure others have better techniques.
Also you should make the titles of your posts address the question so that they can be looked up later.

So if you take a print using a jar, do you just let the print form on the glass and add sterile water to it later to make syringes?

The less spores that are in the syringe the less likely you have a contaminant inside the syringe.

select shrooms that still have the vail intact . use a sterile scalpel to remove the vail, and make the print in your glovebox . the prints won't be dark, but at least they will be clean .
ps. you might get more responses if u edit the original post, and change the title to 'wild prints', or something like that . or you might want to ask this question in the hunting forum .

streak wild print spores onto plain water agar and grow it out, select tissue from cleanest spot for transfer to another plate, etc. there really are no short-cuts to success.

here's another idea (not new BTW) germinate spores on a small pease of cardboard, and transfer to peroxided agar . i've found this works very well . or you could put the colonized cardboard in karo water with h2o2 .

I'd have to say hippie3 has the best plan for this. Just keep picking out the most pure chunk of tissue and keep transferring it to other agar plates until you have no competing species.

I read once that if you take three prints of a wild mushroom, the third one will usually be clean. And you can just toss the first two. I have no idea how good a method this is, I just read it somewhere on here once before. Maybe that'll help. -Mr.Sleep

They have micron sieves for that job.If the spore is 6X9 microns, wash it through a sieve large enough to get the bacterial spores through.Afterwards,go with the largest sieve that allows your spore through.(10 microns).Virus could still whoop you,but its rare.
