Firewall
    #1732274 - 07/20/03 02:41 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

Someone gave me this Norton Firewall and I installed it.

Now it keeps telling me it's blocking some Trojen horse shit from invading my computer.

How did I ever survive all these years without one of these things

Supposed to prevent people or un-friendly entities from hacking into your computer. But I'm no expert on these things I was just told that I needed one of them.

I have Norton 2003 also.
I dont know how much good it really does..
I get several blocked attacks everyday..
Most of them are just trying to get your personal info..
You can do as visual tracking on them to get IP, address, and sometimes a phone #.

I do know one thing that it does a heluva job blocking Ads and pop ups.

Yes it does block most pop-ups but I think that I have something on my system that lets certain ones through.

One of the reasons marijuana is illegal today because growers in the 30s lobbied against hemp farmers -- they saw it as competition, because It is not chemically addictive as is nicotine, alcohol, or caffeine.

What do you think the chances of getting hacked are?

It all depends what you mean by getting "hacked".

One time,in a galaxy far,far away,I was looking at some porn and an instant message type box came up from nowhere and it said "having a good time jerking off?" It scared the crap out of me at first, but I started talking to the guy and he said he gave me a trojan that was a "keylogger" and he could see what I was looking at.He even took it off for me.

Now I have a good firewall and a virus program and nothing like that has happened in a while. According to my firewall, I get about a dozen serious intrusion attemps a day.

If you use cable or DSL,you NEED a firewall. Zonealarm is good and it's easy to set up.

People think that if you just say the word "hallucinations" it explains everything you want it to explain and eventually whatever it is you can't explain will just go away. It's just a word,it doesn't explain anything...
