First grow.

I just decided recently that I wanted to do a small scale grow for some friends and I as I believe it will be much more spiritual to grow them myself as opposed to just contacting a guy.
I went through all of the cases in my house looking for something inconspicuous I could grow in and finally decided on this tape/CD/Vinyl player as I never use it and I doubt anyone would ever touch it as my ipod is always in.

So I opened it up and hollowed out all of the electronics, covered all the holes and made sure it wouldn't let any light out, then cut out some wallboard and glued it in to ensure I had a nicely insulated area with absolutely no light leaking through the front. Thus it is a done case with a whole 12 inches to grow in. As enough shrooms for 3 people could easily grow in the space provided I'm just wondering what else I'll need.
(bolts at the bottom are for easy removal, the screws are fake)

Right now I'm planning on adding a separator between the electronics and sealing it so the humidity won't bother them during fruiting, a fluorescent light fixture, maybe a very small humidifier, and then a quiet computer fan out the back with a filter (in case I need it for heat or humidity regulation), thermometer, hygrometer, etc. And the only reason I want this to be sort of inconspicuous is because I have people over, not very often, that would rather not associate with someone growing such botanicals, not that they'll be inspecting everything in my house. I would like to start growing some time after the start of the new year, perhaps using the mad bag method as it would be cheap, easy, near impossible to contaminate, and I'm not too familiar with the size, but it should fit in the back with plenty of room. I've done plenty of research over the matter, I understand it and will hopefully do well. Any tips on the building or growing aspect of this box from some veterans would be appreciated.

One of the more awesome things I've ever seen.

I'm going to put them in a small terrarium inside the box to fruit.

It sounds pretty awesome, definitely creative. Are you going to be able to fan it everyday? Fresh air exchange can ruin it.

Running a computer fan on em is a bad idea I think, you'd have better luck punching more holes in the panels to allow fresh air to get in and stale air to get out, like the holes in a SGFC. You'll still need to mist and fan several times a day or (IMO) you're setting yourself up for failure. Hard to tell the exact size but you could probably have 3 or 4 cakes in there in a baby SGFC and get them to fruit, but it could go either way. Best of luck, really curious to see how this one turns out once you get it all going.

Yeah I can either fan it every day or set a timer for a computer fan to do it. I'll take off the paper covering the vent holes and replace it with something that allows air to flow while still blocking out some light
EDIT: I'm not expecting this thing to run itself. I'll be checking on it doing the basic requirements every day, if not every other day, just looking for things to prevent accidents in my absence. Non necessities if you will.

Better take that thing outside and shoot it full of holes...lol.
But that reminds me of a question I had (goes along with this^ mantra)...Why fan if the FC is full of fucking holes! If Im going to fan a bunch of times a day anyway, why not just have the holes in the very bottom, and substrate or cake level,...to keep up humidity? The hybrid mono-tub is done this way right? Whats the use of a SGFC if you have to fan and mist so much anyway?

Evaporation off of the substrate is a main pinning trigger, so by misting the cakes, and then fanning out the chamber, you are removing some of the humid air in the chamber, to make room for evaporation of water off the cakes...
If the RH is 100%, there's not much room for evaporation to happen.

I was planning on doing a sgfc just forgot the name. I was planning on making it with a mid sized terrarium as I'm only going to be fruiting one cake. And I'm 19.

You should not grow cubes in your parents house . They could loose there home if things went south . If you do not live with your parents ... my bad... But I see no reason to hide a grow if you lived on you own. Grow some edibles and get your learn on while you live at home.

The pre sterilized bag I'm going to buy looks fairly large. I'll be sure to order 2 and ill fruit both. ill keep the extra shrooms for another time. I doubt I'll be doing this more than twice a year. And Cyndicate, I live in my own apartment but my parents come over pretty often so I'd just rather keep it away and hidden from wandering eyes and the landlord but he doesn't usually bother anyone without suspicion.
