will cakes get contam after full colonization?
    #17321550 - 12/02/12 03:49 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

i have a cake on the stem of the single shroom its growing is blue maybe green, im assuming bruising from when i took it out of the jar because it started life as an invitro pin

and it looks grey on the other side, grey usually means cob web right? or is it drying out? i didnt dunk for as long as recommended

is it ok for me to touch the cakes after they are birthed?

The blue/green is probably bruising, grey isn't good though. Pics would help. Touch as needed but don't handle them if you don't have to.

it was much more noticable in person obviously, one pic is the bruising and one is sort of grey on the left of the cake and whiter on the right, if the cake fell over on itself could grey happen, its really to hard to notice,

A fully colonized cake/substrate is pretty much contam resistant, this is why it's so important to wait until full colonization before introducing FAE.
