Creating a Cubensis "australiana" Monotub Questions
    #17319174 - 12/02/12 07:02 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Basically be following http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/5930161#5930161

but few questions

does it have it be Grain for soawn? can it BRF cakes?

Substrate is a mix of coir and verm correct yes? foloowing Daimons 50/50 tek

I can start from MS syringe correct not a LC?

After a harvest can i select the biggest fruit and isolate it on some agar, create a LC and place Agar wedges in LC's. Do a LC to grain innoc (maybe a g2g on most successful) than do a monotub that will produce identical mushrooms.

Agar to grain transfer? i thought agar to LC than Grain was more successful and faster colonisation?

LC always need to be tested first. You know if agar is clean by sight. I've had great success from agar to grain.

Thankyou. Three last questions
what is the easiest grain to work with the requires min prep?
Can i steralize the grain in PF jars with a layer of dry verm for extra protection later?
Easiest available grain that easy to work with?

I have had many sucess with just BRF cakes but this is expanding my knowledge for a practical experiment. Will be a 1/5th of suggested size and amount till i perfect it

In my experience, Rye berries are exceptionally easy. Takes very little thought to get them right.

Rye berries, organic.  If you read my write up in my sig, I have a very effective WBS prep that is about as simple.
No verm in grain jars. Get quart-sized wide-mouth jars for grains. Prep them exactly as described in the tek you follow. RR's videos on rye berries are my personal favorite.
Wild Bird Seed is easiest to acquire and it's cheap as hell.
