Does this WBS jar look ok?
    #17314503 - 12/01/12 12:15 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

It's been sitting around for a couple weeks since I haven't been sure what to do with it. It seems to look a little fishy to me but I also don't want to throw away perfectly good spawn if I could use it for a G2G.

It just looks like alot of the WBS doesn't have any mycelium on it, wondering if there's trich hiding in there.

What grains are in your WBS? There's like "black"
dots everywhere... And it doesn't appear to be all
sunflower seeds.

when in doubt throw it out---aint that how it goes--if it didnt colonize the same as others i would have my doubts---hell go bury it in a mulch pile that around your trees or whatever--it will put off something--eventually

i think it looks fine, alot go`s into colonizing a grain jar, time, temperature, exposure to light, movement, etc. Sun Flower seeds have a protective oil in them that protects them (some what) from bacteria and mold so, it may take a while for mycelium to cover them. when you soaked the seeds and boiled them or "simmer`d" them that oil in the Sun Flower seeds spread to the other seeds in the pot. most of it was probably rinsed off when you rinsed and strained them- this may have had an effect on the growth- MAYBE, im just pondering what could have happen`d. if you dont see trichoderma or some other nasty contaminate i`d follow threw with the grow or transfer- if they were my jars.
