Removing excess water from LC

So say some nub out there filled a quart jar to 600/800ml with honeywater and then inocc'd
Then realized his mistake: after colonization began the jar was well too full to shake/stir without getting the SFD wet
Could that nub take a sterile syringe and remove excess water without harming the LC? Obviously not sucking up the colonized mycelium, but just removing the honeywater.
You wouldn't need to tell this nub he is a nub... he might already be well aware.

While at the same time keeping this in mind.
LCs from spores are sketchy. No spore syringe/print is ever 100% clean.
This is because the cap from which the spores came was more than likely fruited in the open air.
You cannot know 100% if an LC is good or not by visual inspection.
Test jars must be shot up and grown out.
Conditions are not correct for germination of spores in sugar LCs, grain LCs or extra light malt extract based LCs are perfect for spore germination.
For best results, make LCs from a fully colonized grain jar(GLC) or from an agar wedge.
Or skip LC entirely and just G2G(Grain to Grain) transfers to expand your mycellium.

Ah yes, the GLC is a much better idea for one to try perhaps.
Thank you very much!

Not really; I fail to see any overriding benefit of GLC compared to spore LC, unless you're using an isolate.
I've never had an issue with dirty LCs. Used them since my first grow from bought prints and have made them from my own prints since.

I shot up 3 honey LCs last week, and now have 3 fluffy MS cultures to fruit out for clone selection... which I will clone via LC.

Make your next LC lid like this

I use a stir plate, but you can shake the shit out of these and not worry about a wet filter.
Save the SFD for grain spawn jars.
If using red RTV on those you'll probably lose LCs anyway.
I can't get that stuff to stay on the lid or the filter.

Red or Blue bond well with metal and the automotive 3/8" vacuum tube.

Thats nifty but I still prefer snap together over glue together.
How are you keeping contams out, polyfill in the tube?

From what I understand about this FOAF's project:
The LC was thrown out last night
today a small popcorn GLC was innoc'd with GT along with some quart jars of popcorn which were given an "agar" transfer (actually BRF agar substitute) which had certainly turned a slight blue since colonization but most likely due to dehydration, not contam (fingers crossed)... After flame sterilizing the knife, black splotches were present, but soon realized this was from the knife being lighter flamed instead of alcohol flamed, and black crap getting on some wedge samples, but some here have read that this black soot is essentially harmless.

GLCs are better because u know the mycellium is clean. Where as with spores you don't.

True (open air, though once you're fruiting your own you have excellent control over your printing conditions), but GLC is no guarantee of a sterile sample, and personally I prefer the reduced exposure that comes with being able to inject a minute amount of spore solution over the benefits that come with inoculating an LC with grain.

Not true, my friend. A common mistake is to think that all contams manifest visually on the grains. In reality, they often hide. Trich, for example, has a white mycelium that rarely goes green on grains alone. The smell of grains is what really tells you if they're clean. And since you can't smell the jar well enough through the filter, you won't be able to tell if your GLC is truly clean until you test it.

Another thing to consider about using honey is that it has antibacterial properties by chelation of free Iron, its slow release of hydrogen peroxide, high acidity, and the antibacterial activity of methylglyoxal.
