pinning/invitro question

hello, i recently had pins invitro that were growing i put in basement thinking the temp will stop growth, turns out it doesnt, i manages to save the pins and birth them, im now wondering, the pins/shrooms that were saved grow fine, 1 will it continue pinning right away? will i notice a wait for more pins? and 2 seeing how the mushrooms grow in this temperature does that mean pins will form in the same cirumstances, they get low amount of light and unfortunatly i had to birth them into a cleaned water cooler style thing like what they use in sports for gatorade it seems to work with surran wrap on top with 2 holes and i leave the bottom tap open to let the heavy co2 run its self down i mist and fan 4-5 times a day

1. Yes
2. What temperature? Optimal temps are mid 70s throughout the whole grow, but anywhere from 70F-80F is acceptable.
3. C02 does not sink, nor does it settle out of air.
4. Pics of your setup would help.

If co2 sank then we wouldn't be able to sleep on the floor, and we would probably all be dead from the large amounts of co2 that fall to the ground.

uh...CO2 is heavier than O2, and does indeed sink when it's concentrated. Take a look at a sublimating block of dry ice.

Yes, it should.

What?
They will pin when they pin, there is no set time frame, just keep misting/fanning is all you can do.

Add a draft or heat currents to the equation.
In a SGFC the co2 gets pushed out thru the holes by the heat currents generated by the cakes...or do I have that wrong?

I was under the impression it had to do with the evaporation, since humid air is lighter, and the humidity is created by the perlite at the bottom, it makes the co2 lighter because it's more humid. But there's a lot of science i don't get involved with it.

Don't ever get the idea that CO2 is heavier than air, thus it will collect at the bottom or 'drain' out the bottom. It does not. RR
Ok, so cloudperson was right.

co2 is heavier than air though, for the educated record. has no one ever done the experiment where you put out a candle from way above with co2, because it falls out of the cup you have when you tilt it.

CO2 is very slighty denser than air, but the difference is so slight that any movement of the air at all causes the two to mix.
When you pour it like you are saying it is concentrated, but it mixes in with the air rapidly after that and disperses.

CO2 is slightly heavier than air, but since air is partially made up of CO2, unless you're introducing an extremely large amount (such as when dry ice sublimes), it's not going to settle out.
The amount of CO2 given off by myc will just mix with the air, and if there's air flow, the CO2 will exit the tub with the rest of the air. That's why it's important to close all of the holes when bulk sub is colonizing.
