I only see good mycelium. I'm on a cell phone though. Cobweb is grey.
Foil us supposed to be removed after pressure cooking.

I see no cobweb.
If you have a lid and dry verm layer, then remove the tin foil. It will restrict GE(gas exchange) and potentially cause stalling.

What do you mean about taking off the foil? We've sterilized with 1 foil, then inoculated with a syringe and then we've covered the top of the jar with another tin foil and then placed it in the closet. Is there something wrong about it? Should we take off the tin foil completeley and leave only the dry vermiculite on the top?

yeah the foil is only used during sterilazation to help keep water droplets out of the jar.remove it and any tape over the inoculation holes to allow GE.(gas exchange).thats is if u have a dry layer of verm in tour jars.that is your contamination filter thae dry layer.hope this helps

Guys, thank you for your help but anyway, we are a little bit confused. We have a jar, that has only tin foil on the top. You are telling us, that removing the foil to allow gas exchange is safe? Does the vermiculite on the top prevent any contamination during colonization? We though that there has to be some kind of cover to prevent the contamination besides the vermiculite.

Well normally it is your vermiculite plus the jar lid with the 4 little holes. If you do NOT have the jar lid then leave the foil on and leave a couple little holes in it for gas exchange (GE).

Thank you. We were wondering why its colonizing slowly. And another question: Is this some kind of contamination or is the fuzz on the bottom of the stem ok? http://i48.tinypic.com/dysn0l.jpg

That fuzz is ok but it usually means the cakes need more FAE (fresh air exchange). Fan more or if its in a closet take it out and put it into a room.
Also upload your pics to the site, it makes things 100 times easier =P.
