Mississippi hunting question

My friend has like 120 acres in Mississippi in the Brookhaven area, a lot of which are cow fields, she also has a horse pasture. She went out looking this past weekend and found a ton of russilas and some other species, but nothing growing out of the dung. She said it had been raining every day. Is she just not looking hard enough or are the cubes not popping up right now? She said she only searched like one and a half cow pastures out of six that they have there.
Has anyone been having luck in the last week or so? This upcoming week it's susposed to be hot with a 30-40% chance of rain every day. Hopefully Miss will get a soaking and she'll find some cubes.

that one dude from MS picked them all back in May. didn't he get like 4,000 caps in like 5 days worth of rain without leaving any large specimens behind? i think you'll be lucky if you ever find a cube in that area again for the next 10 years.

A couple weeks ago is differnt than right now isn't it? I meant like in the last 2 or 3 days. I don't think they're fruiting right now that's why I asked.. my friend just scoured 6 cow fields and didn't find a damn single mushroom fruiting out of dung.

I hate to be the newbie to bring this up but chances are that the cows are fed grains with anti fungisides in them so stuff wont grow on the feed and most likely not the dung iether.

Well... you are being a real newbie because that is not true. Farmers do NOT feed their cows food with fungicide in it.
1. The fungicide would be absorbed into the cow's muscles and end up in the beef product... FDA wouldn't be too happy about that.
2. Fungus is a primary decomposer of cow dung. If they fed them fungicide their crap would just sit there forever.
3. It's not cost efficient to add fungicide to cow feed.
