Needing to steam dry ALOT of grains. Not enough strainers. Dump in sink ?

Just wondering if anyone's though of this. I have a screen thing that fits the drain. It's such a pain throwing a pot of 14 quarts of grains into 4 or 5 strainers to ,is around till dry. Also. Sme of the strainers have less than ideal hole size so some grains squeeze through making a bit of a mess on counter, as I can only fit 1 in sink. Was thinking, what if I pour a lot of the grains right in the sink after straining, with the screen in the drain of course, and mixing them around in there?

or you could put down some garbage bags or whatever you have for plastic on the floor and spread it out on there..or in the bath tub..i did that with my first WBS. cleaned it out really good with bleach and then sprayed it down with lysol and a good rinse, the tub that is, then layed down the garbage bags and poured the WBS and spread it out. worked like a charm

i use a wooden frame the size of my sink with window screen stretched over it, you can dry a lot of grains in no time with it

Wooden screen over sink wont cut it. I'm talking 40 quarts of grains. Proly in 3 batches of. 15, 15 and 10 But would be great to do all at once. I don't think my sink could get away with 10 quarts even anyway. Bathtub idea is good. So after dumping them in I gather you just stir it around a bit. How do you get the bags not to move around and bunch up? What's the most amount you've done with this method.

I'm going bathtub route. I have a big sheet of old greenhouse plastic I cut to size. I was wondering though. How imperative is it to clean the crap out of it. I mean first off, no grains will be touching the tub anyway....but even the plastic. If I'm pressure cooking afterwards wouldn't this make the need for that null and void? I understand the concept of not wanting to really put them in a nasty environment but it won't mind if there is a lil film on the plastic will it? Won't pressure cooking kill anything anyway?

yea, i wouldnt think it is all that important to go that crazy cleaning like i did, cause they are PC after so.. i think you would be good with just a wipe down or rinse then lay the plastic down and Boom your in business.

Spread it on something cloth based. A half folded sheet. A big towel. Etc....
Plastic pools water and is counterproductive.
Grain does not need to be sterile before the PC. PC'ing takes care of the contams.

My solution:

I can do > 12 quarts at a time. If I'm doing more, I just fish them out of the pot with a strainer and dump them on the screens, leaving the rest in the hot water. If I have too make to put them all on the screen at once, I only fill each jar part way from each batch so I can keep the moisture pretty consistent.
