Next step after pf tek?
    #17309493 - 11/30/12 02:31 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Hello everyone,

I have had my first successful fruiting from PF TEK, but have noticed from various threads on the forum that there are much more efficient grow methods that produce much higher yields.

Could anyone suggest any threads that give a good description of other grow methods that provide much higher yields?

I've heard Rye grain is good, should I go for that?

I am  restricted by the amount of space I have to store my materials etc, so if anyone knows of any good growing methods that need the same amount of space as PF TEK I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Certainly! Grains in qt jars r ur next easiest setup imo. Lots of possibilities but spawn to bulk in monotubs can't go wrong.

Check out my greenhouse, the first link in my sig. Can't save much more space than that for the yield.

The next step would be graduating to using grain spawn to inoculate a pasteurized substrate in
a monotub or other container.

Grain Spawn:

Pasteurize Substrate

Other advanced techniques such as learning to use agar would also be beneficial to someone looking
for more then just the PF tek.

If you want to "do it right:"

Build a laminar flow hood

Isolate a good strain on agar and transfer to grain

Buy pro filter patch bags and make a load of grain spawn

Get yourself a load of horse manure and coir

spawn to bulk trays

Build a fruiting chamber with ventilation/humidification

Then you've got to figure out how to dry the end result

I'm a bit of a perfectionist...
