Thanks for the informative response. At least you were able to shine some light on the situation. I honestly thought opening a mailbox seemed like a wise move but I really wanted to hear it from someone more knowledgeable than myself.
The next question on my mind though is, do I sign up using my real identity or do I take the gamble and try opening a mailbox under a different alias? My only concern with the second option is, all I have in attempt to get away with this is an edited printout of a drivers license. Now I spoke with someone else that's pretty clued up on their security regarding this matter, and they seemed to think it was pointless handing over an edited copy of a drivers license if it still has my original photo. When you think about it, he has a point Without a fake ID, am I just wasting my time trying to sign up under a different name?
I just think if you're going to go through the trouble of signing up to a mailbox, you should really be trying to use a different name if at all possible.

After all the reading I have done on accepting packages I have come to two conclusions. Keep the order very small and order to your own name. I would leave me my mail in the box for days once it arrives to make myself feel better. Even though that probably isn't necessary. Or I would use a different name and test it out a few times by mailing myself letters from that said name. Personally, my mail man gives us mail with other names and addresses on it all the time and doesn't care. We are constantly re hanging mail to be returned because he gets so bad with it. As long as the South address is correct, he doesn't care what East, West or name is on the damn thing. I would feel the best by receiving mail that is not in my name and leave it in the box for a couple days. That is just what I would do. I'm not giving any advice.
