You can harvest it, when they mature small like that it's not going to grow anymore.
Unless it's just a genetic mutation making it grow like that and it's not actually mature, so give it one more day, then compare this picture to one you take tomorrow to see if it grows. If not, pull it.

I have a funny picture for you, while back I flipped over my monotub and this was on the bottom:

After placing the entire cake into a fruiting chamber, all those pins matured young like yours above. (bottom right corner of this pic, are similar to yours)

but after awhile, I picked off all the pre-mature pins, and it started fruiting properly:

The end.

That's a young mutant to my eyes, not a mature fruit...

My mom got me one for like $180 on my 15th birthday, coolest pet I ever had. I decided to take him hiking with me one day, no leash or anything. He decided to hobble up and take the lead, then just took off and I lost sight of him for like 10 mins, I was freaking out.
So on my way back home I ran into him again, he was in the middle of the trail eating a 3-4ft black snake that he killed. He had half of it's head chewed off. I had no fucking idea they were so awesome, he never once showed any violent tendencies to me. Just loved to play, but he ate snakes for sure. Few months later he caught another snake, a ratsnake this time, on the side of the house. Chewed it's head off and fell asleep next to the corpse.
Another interesting thing he did was collect anything shiny and stockpile it in his cage (we always left his door open so he could come and go as he pleased) if people came over to hang out he would climb up them, dive into their pockets and take any lighters, loose change, pens. I cleaned his cage one day and there was about 5 pounds of shiny debri, mostly coins.

That is fantastic. My ferrets are free-roam ferrets, they have a cage but only the little one (our 5 month old) has to stay in it at night. The rest make nests around the house where we find all the cat toys (and I mean, ALL of them) and bottle caps, pieces of their food in little piles, shirts, robes, socks, etc. They also love putting stuffed animals and rubber doorstops in various places. I've tried to take my oldest out back but I'm afraid he'll run off, he's way too curious for his own good He always gets out of his leash too.

Ferrets are high maintenance pets when they're young, they can also be very aggressive. Older ferrets are more docile, depending on how they've been raised. My 3 year old male ferret is a snuggler and a lover. He loves having his face rubbed and lays on his back to get you to rub his belly. It's hard to get him to bite even when playing rough.

I can definitely see him getting out of a leash mine would flatten his body and crawl underneath doors through a 1-2" gap. Its amazing how versatile they are. Mischievous escape artists.
I would say my fav thing my ferret did was when he got all worked up playing and would hobble across the floor almost sideways. It was hilarious and never got old.

If you get ferrets, get 2. <.< Not really all that much harder to care for 2 than it is 1 (give them food/water more often, clean litter more often, about it) and watching them play together is worth it. I could watch my 2 chase each other around this room for hours. (Well, technically I can't, they get tired of running after about an hour and then just walk around exploring)
