I am really keen on mountaineering, but too... trapped in the city, to get started at present.
I am also very interested in cycling across Canada at minimum, from Alaska to Patagonia (likely possibly motorcycle) or around the world.
I am also eager to hike the PCT (which is the most challenging of the 3 things listed.)

Sailing too.
I saw all this - and haven't done anything adventurous for years.

I would love to one day get a boat and sail to the southern pacific and spend a year just living, I've always loved going out to the ocean on boats, it gets crazy out there

Mine would be for me and the dog to 1) thru-hike the AT starting in GA and working my way up, then a short transit to the start of the North Country Trail in NY, 2) hike it from NY to MN, get to Lake Superior, from there have a canoe waiting for me, 3) complete the Grand Portage and end in Ely, MN for beers and a burger at the Ely Steakhouse
-------------------- Two roads diverged in a wood, and I cut straight through the forest, and that has made all the difference.

whats the best place to start reading on that?
Bill Bryson's book "A Walk in the Woods" is a great primer for the Appalachian Trail
Also Whiteblaze.net is a good place to check out pictures and info from other hikers.

I want to go explore Japan. Everything. From urban to outdoor and all by foot. I believe I could do it within a year if I used public transportation.

Shit, I have so many.
One of my shorter term goals is to get a cave diving certification which would be an adventure in and of itself - I'd also like to dive the great barrier reef in my lifetime. Another one of my goals as someone who's grown up with horses is to go horseback riding on every continent - except Antarctica, for obvious reasons. So far I've got three continents down, there are safari's on horseback in Africa that I've got my eye on and I'd like to ride on a working cattle ranch one day. It's just something that I've connected with other people on where lingual persuasion just doesn't matter, it's cool.
What I'd really love to do is just give myself a month to get lost and immersed in a totally foreign culture. Tokyo has really been drawing me in lately, Singapore is another thing I don't know much about but I've been very interested in it.
My father just came back from India this summer, and from what he's described it's total chaos, he was there on business and apparently it wasn't entirely pleasant wandering through there in a suit over the summer hah - but I would love to go there for the history.
Gah, nope, can't decide.

Already been said on here but ever since I went on 2 week long hikes with my boy scout troop back when I was 14 and 16 I've wanted to hike the AT. I have a couple buddies that are down to do it with me, all I need is the time away and money! I have to thru hike the AT before I die, it's been on my mind for years and seeing this just makes me want to pack up and head out

I would be interested in doing some backcountry cycle touring aswell although don't know much about how to go about it.
Do you know about "the tour divide" ?

if you want to ride the divide, then check this documentary out. I saw it last year, and I wish I could could do it, but I don't have the endurance at ALL.

Seen it, thanks tho.
I actually got introduced to the ride divide from a book i found about a british guy who was fed up with his life, bought a mountain bike and decided to do the ride divide. It was pretty funny, but captivating reading at the same time.
I would like to race it sometime ... I appreciate the mentality of it.

Ya i know what your talking about.
I mean just mountain bike all over the rocky range not a formal ride from the northern tip to southern tip.
I dont like road biking very much that shit is way too sketchy for me. Cars whizing by at 50+ no thank you.
