they will fruit untill the caps flatten out then they are fully mature and after that the will start to decompose and it takes about a week(for most mushrooms) for this to happen under the right invroment and they will fruit again this is called a flush when mushrooms fruit once you pick the frist flush you will get another flush and you will keep getting flushes till all the nutrients are used up for cakes most people get 2-3 flushes for casing from anywhere from 3-5 flushes. As long as there is a window in the room, there will be sufficient light for your mushrooms to grow. In fact all your mushrooms really need is a few minutes of light a day to grow. All they need the light for is to know which way is up so they know which way to grow, but the amount of light given will not affect wether you get mushrooms or not.The heigth of your mushrooms will also not be determined by the amount of light provided. Sometimes mushrooms will grow longer if they have less light.

It depends on the conditions; casing depth, moisture, nutrients. Assuming there is suffiecent moisture, it will keep flushing until there is no more nutes. I'd need more details on your set up.

You can have a casing that goes for 7 months or more if you use a 4+" substrate layer. If you have a big enough house and incubator, just make gallons and gallons of substrate and theny ou can case that shit and it will go CRAZY

You want to keep your flushes to around 3-4. Or else the Ph will rise and you start to get small retarded shrooms. The best thing to do is plan for 2-3 and if you get 4 youre in luck. Thats my opinion. Then take the spent substrate and bury it outside... you will get a few flushes more there.

That's very interesting. I've never heard that before. Good idea
Just an inch under?
Would a person with contaminated substrate be wise to bury? Perhaps nature can do something with it.
WIll cakes work as well?

There has been many successfull post on outdoor cultivation using spent cakes and/or casings.

If you put a little work into it (search for MOES OUTDOOR TEK) there is a good chance (depending on conditions) your outdoor patch will flush.
