Here are some results from our first try, Ecuadors. Needed advice after some jars stalled a few weeks back and found out a couple had a bacterial infection and we learned we had left them all at too high a temp atleast once for a brief time, (about 90 degrees). Here's a link to our first post:

We decided to go ahead and birth them, did not dunk and cut off a couple that were not 100 % colonized. We'll here's some of the results:

How many ended up with contam? They look pretty nice after seeing the jars.

That cake in the bottom left looks like it might have some mold growing. I'd keep an eye on it.

Yeah, we ended up tossing that jar too. Total of 3 we didn't take a chance and got rid of. Jars were also very dry it seemed, Think main problem was that the jars were too big, sat too long and we used slightly too high a temp for a time. Anyway, six jars did pretty good and on third flush. This was so much fun for a first grow, and we've learned a ton from it. Got some Z Strain coming next and they are going so much better! Took off like a rocket colonizing. Really impressed with these. If we could do this by half ass messing up the Ecuador's, I can't wait to see what happens with these because everything has gone so much smoother with these and we have a lot more jars. Want to begin learning about bulk and casing methods after these jars! Thanks everyone for input and advice!

Casing is not necessary for cubes and it could give you more of a chance for contams... I would advise no casings.
