WTF? If that crazy motherfucker gets to sign it, I wanna sign it too. I'd sooner like to see Charlie Manson sign it. Talk about goin' down a fucking rabbit hole. What was that guys name in Back to the Future? Biff Tanner? The one who changed history and created an alternate timeline that totally sucked ass. Sometimes that's what I feel we're living in. Stories like this just reconfirm it.

I wish people would stop idolizng the founding fathers. They wrote a constitution that had some practical insights, but was also full of some seriously flawed ideas. Black people are worth 3/5 of a white person. Not exactly enlightened.

That 3/5 thing wasn't part of the original draft, it came in later. A good part of the founding fathers wanted to do away with slavery outright but knew it wasn't politicaly or economicly feasible so the best they could do was write in language about equality with the hope that it would eventually ring true. And it eventually did. Don't doubt The Founders, they were badass, at least compared to anything that passes for a polititian today.

I like Ron Paul, but I wouldn't find it appropriate to have him sign the Constitution.
Still, it would never happen, and signing the petition to let him do so would be a funny joke.

You can't say that about RP, he wants to legalize pot and that's why we ignore that he is an old school racist who would let people die if they couldn't afford medical care.

Right. Your laughing at them for not having 21st century values.
Good for you.

This is as relevant as when Stephen Colbert ran for President of South Carolina. With much less humor.

He'll always be idolized by ignorant people that are voting for him solely for his views on marijuana legalization.
Either way, all candidates are puppets, RP just happens to be an old, racist puppet.

I don't think Ron Paul is racist but I agree about his health care plans - thinking doctors will help people without health care out of kindness is kind of ignorant. People need to make money, most doctors aren't gonna help people if there's no health care.

can we instead sign a petition that says fuck the U.S. constitution?
lets make a new one. you know, one that can deal with the problems of today.

What rights would they sign away?
Judging from bills signed into law by Bush and Obama they would take away our right to privacy as the patriot act does and the right to a fair trial which the National Defense authorization act takes away. Also states rights as is evident with medical marijuana

If we were doing something as extreme as completely trashing the constitution and writing a new one I highly doubt something like The Patriot act would make its way there.

At least the constitution is still there so they can be fought off. We still have a right to defend free speech, private property, bear arms, habeas corpus, etc...

would they be? i think a new constitution would entail a lot more than just letting the current congress write one. i'm thinking armed revolution or something like that. the idea of a new constitution is not to allow the old guard to continue to get their way, as they do now. otherwise, what would be the point? if you honestly think i'm advocating the current leadership of this country write a new constitution you, sir, are completely missing my point.

I'm just saying I'm not sure how it would be pulled off but if they could do it the right way it could be legit. Maybe with constitutional experts and people concerned for freedom it would work.

we elect experts. experts get us the fucked up legislation we have now. lets get some real people to write the next constitution. experts gave us black people = 3/5ths of a person. experts gave us women can't vote. no, lets forget the experts this time around.
