Why does the sober character look disgruntled/unhappy?

Under the mood category, the sober character clearly appears to be in a bad mood. But what if one has been sober/straight-edge and is proud of it to show it off? I know why the current sober avatar would look unhappy, but sobriety can go 2 ways.
A sober character should be looking bright/clear with a clean expression

a high person might be miserable too... lol so we should have two of each?
lol, it's just a joke. if you want to be looked upon as happy, just select "happy" or "fabulous" or "in love".
those are good choices.
sober, just means "i'm a line"... a straight unwavering line.

If I'm not on drugs, I'm mad. Therefore, he's mad too. Makes sense.

Actually I can see why this sober emoticon has been presented in that kind of manner here in the Shroomery. Hmm...

You forgot you were on a website full of druggies, dealers, addicts, psychonauts, explorers, burn outs and all that?

There are plenty of non-drug related options that express excitement and appreciation of life. Sober has implications beyond drugs.

Sober has denotations that do not involve drugs. The word also means plain and boring. I'm not saying that people who don't use drugs are like this, but that is still an accepted meaning of the word.

A sober character should be looking bright/clear with a clean expression
He should look bored and disinterested. Think they got it right.

If I had the option of being high, but rejected that option for whatever reason, I'd probably make that sober face at least once that day.
