Sick of shaking grain gars - Paint Shaker

Thought I'd pose the question out there before I buy one.
I can get a used paint shaker for pretty cheap; I was thinking it would be perfect for shaking up grain jars..
Would it completely destroy the glass jars?
Would it effectively shake up the grain.
Would it be the wrong motion completely?
Thoughts?
Found this when I was looking up how one worked - figured I'd post it as it also shows you the motion they make

i dont see why they wouldnt work you would still have to break em up a lil bit though.
its not a bad workout when your getting 30jars ready to spawn.
I WORKOUT!

I've been trying to come up with an idea of how to automate this, and a paint shaker never even occurred to me. Brilliant!
Post pics when you get it.

You could make a vessel to assure that the jars wouldn't break. Take say a 5 gallon bucket it and fill it with something sturdy, yet soft enough to not cause damage. Insert few jars and voila.
I'm thinking that stuff that you put in spots and it expands and is like a Styrofoam.. anyone know what I'm talking about? Anyway it would be sturdy enough to not let the jars bang around and soft enough to absorb the impact, plus you could fit 3-4 jars maybe more in a 5 gallon bucket if you do it right.

Good Idea!
How has this not been thought of yet?? - or at least some way to automate it..
Can I get a shroomery rating for this idea or something? lol - how does that work anyway <<< NOOB
I'm hoping to pick one up this weekend so I'll keep you apprised.

Are you talking about shaking somewhat colonized jars? Or am I missing something here?

Are you talking about sprayfoam insulation that comes in a can?
That stuff is very sticky and hard to remove once dried. I worked with it a lot when i used to build houses out of insulated concrete forms.
You might could spray some in a bag, close it up, set it in a paint can and then put the jar in so the bag is a barrier between the foam and the jar. Could be like a reusable mold.

That's exactly the stuff. Like you said just use a bag to make sure the jar can come out or make a cut out of the jar and the 5 gal bucket is reusable. There's also that stuff you use for shipping where you mix it up and it forms around whatever is in the box.

You're going to need some type of impact on the jar side to break up the mycelium network. I've already thought of the paint shaker, but it doesn't seem viable. It just doesn't seem logical when you think of breaking up solids vs. mixing liquids. Think of the effort that it takes to stir a pot of boiling water vs. breaking up spawn jars. That's what you're looking at, here. I bet it'd work for shaking jars after a G2G, though, NP.

I think using spray foam and plastic bags to make a form inside of a 5 gal bucket would work if you make the openings for the jars a little big so they get knocked around a little would work.
