Damp Rid Dessicator Setup Help Please

Yeah so I got the mushrooms pretty dry with a fan. Now I have them in a canning jar about 8" tall that is air tight. I have a generous layer of damprid on the bottom, about 2 inches. Next I took some tissue paper and made a bowl to suspend them from. I kept this in place with a rubber band around the outer lip. Then I closed the air lid.
My question is...Is the tissue paper set up ok and will this pull moisture or do I need more of a mesh? Can I put the mushrooms directly onto the mesh?
Any other cheap home setup suggestions?
How long should this take to get dry with my current setup? (Looking for an estimate to see if I am doing it right.)
Thanks!

Get a big airtight container and put your damp rid on the bottom.... make a screen or something to keep the mushrooms from touching the desiccant...and just put them in the container. There is not much room in a jar and it would make more sense to use a bigger container to dry in. I used to use a lettuce container that had a plastic rack on the bottom. something like this only with no air vents on the sides... http://www.lnt.com/product/plastic-containers/240997-13703/progressive-lettuce-keeper-vegetable-and-fruit-storage.html?utm_source=googleproductads&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term={keyword}

$10 dehydrator from a thrift store will do you so much good. The longer it takes to dry your mushrooms, the more oxidation will affect the actives. 24 hrs @ 165F moving air is better than days in front of a fan / in desiccant chambers etc.

This is how i did it cheers
Supplies:
The list is not terribly long so dont worry. Just go to home depot and get damp rid and a big work bucket. then go to walmart and get a splatter screen and a platter lift.

The platter stand looks like this:
Procedure:
Take the damp rid and pour about a 2 inch layer into the bottom of the work bucket.
Then cut the mesh off of the splatter screen frame so its just the mess and set on top of the platter stand. then you will bend the edges of the mesh screen around the top of the stand.
Then sit the stand inside the bucket.
youre done simple enough, right? lol
