Cubies and wood chips
    #1728532 - 07/18/03 08:26 PM (14 years, 10 months ago)

Can they utilize nutrients from wood? I could just experiment but I don't want to use my babies for a doomed venture.

Our quest for discovery fuels our creativity in all fields, not just science. If we reached the end of the line, the human spirit would shrivel and die. But I don't think we will ever stand still: we shall increase in complexity, if not in depth, and shall always be the center on an expanding horizon of possibilities.

cubensis lack the enzymes to extract the necessary nutrients or percursors from lignious substrates (woods)

Are you sure about that? I didn't think P. Cubensis was wood loving at all. Even if it could extract nutrients from wood, it would grow much better on a grain substrate.
