White mushroom with pink gills?
    #17280302 - 11/25/12 04:20 PM (3 years, 10 months ago)

Central valley California.
White to tan-ish cap.
Pink gills.
Veil present.
Bruises brown.
Sporeprint is brown.
Gills turned brown after a few hours of spore printing.
Growing in a lawn from the roots of a tree.
Not sure what the tree is may be sweat gum.

I also think it's Agaricus.

The edible one, or the killer?

It has a mild, pleasant odor and taste.

We will need a trusted identifier to determine this. Be patient.

Are these the ones that they refer to as pinkies?

They appear to follow the roots of the tree.
Wood lover or secondary composter?

I happened to have MD open in front of me so I read the description again, you're right, he mentions it in one line.  I only remembered meadow mushroom though.
Arora also claims its the champignon of France, the champignons you find in the stores here sadly aren't A. campestris...
