I think hes asking for a name of a plant if any exist that will speed or slow his metabolism. But does he mean long term or short term, that I do not know of.

Interesting....but never looked into it.....

Are there plants/substances that would JUST raise metabolism?

There are lots of stimulant containing plants(stim.s raise metabolism right?)...some easy to attain some illegal and not so easy to get at..... ....ephedra, guarana, coffee, khat, coca, etc.....

I guess you could say they raise metabolism, but i wouldn't really call it that. Part of their action of also CNS stimulation is appetite supression, that's really their mechanism of action for "raising metabolism"

When i said stacker II plant i was making a joke. Stacker IIs (Stacker 2) are those pills sold in GNC for weight loss. I was wondering if you were looking for a Stacker II plant.

I'm not sure when Khat became illegal, but I think within the last ten years, though don't quote me on it. I'll try and see if i can't find out.

It would help to post what your purpose is.

--------------------
"A nation's hope of lasting peace cannot be firmly based upon any race in armaments but rather upon just relations and honest understanding with all other nations...

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed... The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. We pay for a single fighter with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people..."

President Dwight Eisenhower, 1953

If you're looking for something other than stimulants as a supposed metabolism booster. Black Pepper is reported to increase metabolism but not act as a stimulant.

caffiene does Not supress appetite. Nicotine does.

>>caffiene does Not supress appetite. Nicotine does.

??? when did i say caffiene does or doesn't. Actually most CNS stimulants supress appetite. Caffiene included, nicotine is also a CNS stimulant. Those stackers contain much more, which i believe were listed above.

asd:
Then you're definition of metabolism booster must be explicitly defined, as all tweak type alkaloids are just CNS stimulants and suppress appetite more than they increase the metabolism. That's why i suggest black pepper.

Actually, when you replied that coffee, khat were appetite suppressors, you were saying that caffiene was. Caffiene is their active ingredient. But that's beside the point. I drink coffee everyday, sometimes a little too much, and it does not tame my appetite. Why? It's not a CNS stimulant. It works differently. Look here-http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/caffeine/caffeine_pharmacology1.shtml
