I'm something of an adventure sports junkie. Anyone else in here partake? I'm talking anything from rock climbing to caving, scuba diving to paragliding.

If it's outside and it's a little bit crazy, you're my kind of people. What do you do? Where do you do it?

I haven't done those things, although I am very interested in rock climbing and cave exploring.

think anybody that posts in this sub forum has a little bit of adrenaline junkie in them.

hell even wandering off into the unknown with a few supplies and a flash light could be enough to be an adventure sport for some.

me?

give me what you got.

Right now, I enjoy longboarding, slacklining, mountain biking, cliff jumping.

I definitely want to get into highlining, scuba, climbing, and parachuting, eventually BASE jumping.

I've been geared towards adventure sports for as long as I can remember.

Sorry for the hiatus; went up to the boonies for Thanksgiving with my family and some hunting (didn't get anything this weekend. Better luck next).

The things I'm qualified and have the gear for are rock climbing, caving (traditional and vertical), hiking/camping/backpacking, paragliding, scubadiving, and skiing.

Things on my list of things to do in this respect: advance my scuba training, get into ice climbing, and get good enough at both skiing and paragliding to start speed riding.

Here's some motivation for y'all:
Paragliding from The Pulpit
This one's me, by the way. The two below are not; just on my list.

Speed Riding Mont Blanc

Scuba; Silfra Iceland

I'm into rock climbing and scuba diving, and of course hiking/backpacking - I used to be into like showjumping and eventing with horses and shit, but I've pretty much lost all desire to be competitive but I'd love to get into horse-trekking. Paragliding sounds awesome too. I've done a bit of skydiving and loved it, not so sure I can handle base jumping as odd as it sounds, but it interests me.

I was just down in Florida earlier in the month and late October but I'm jonesin' to get back in the water again, I'm all too used to cold water and quarry diving, but it's a bit too cold out for my tastes now lol. I'd love to get into cave diving soon, but I think the next course I'm gonna take with PADI is going to be Dry Suit diving.

edit:

Slacklining!
That was what I wanted to try.
I know I'm going to be terrible at it, lol, but it looks like fun.

I whitewater kayak and raft. Rafting is my summer job.

I also snowboard but I'm not that good at it yet. Hopefully this winter will change that. I already have 7 days this season as of Nov 27th.

I've tried to get into mountain biking too. I have a bike but usually in the summer I'm dead beat from rafting so I don't get out too much.

That's about it for me.

Whereabouts do you do whitewater? I've rafted the Upper Gauley out in WV a few times, and it's always looked like a pretty sweet summer gig.

And slacklining would be a great summer afternoon activity. Guys do it on campus here on occasion, I just haven't gotten around to trying it out yet. Should be great for the core.

Hoping to try Kayaking this spring. Always wanted to try white water rafting.

Kern looks pretty nice. Lots of opportunity for multiday trips, which I've been dying to do. Nothing like mixing camping in with whatever adventure sport you do.

Speaking of, skycamping is totally on my list. Pick a destination, launch your paraglider and fly in that direction (obviously wind permitting). Land on launchable areas and camp, then launch the next day. Repeat. People have done multiple hundreds of miles over the course of a week.

My friends are total nut jobs with absolute disregard for their own safety or "doing things the proper way," However, their experiences canoeing through rapids are pretty wild, and something i would like to try.

Already dove the Chesapeake. Pulled a bushel of oysters in under 2 hours. They were freakin delicious.

And yeah, visibility was shit, pollution was shit. But it was a fun dive nonetheless.

I've dived Bonaire too! It was absolutely gorgeous! So cool that the island itself had very harsh desert terrain but there was so much color and life under those waves.

I'm an east coat(inland, too ) diver. I don't know of any great diving immediately off of the North East coast myself, around here the only good diving is freshwater. We've got quarries that are crystal clear and have things like helicopters, school buses, etc sunk in them - people also use the one place I go to release their koi fish and they get huge. It's kind of cool, a ton of very large goldfish, almost lol. Sometime in the warmer months I'm going to go out to the Outer Banks. Florida's, obviously, also got some pretty world class diving.

The Chesapeake sounds interesting, I don't eat oysters, but I'd still probably dive it anyway lol - at least you've got that. All Philly's got are some meeeega polluted rivers that the police pull bodies out of on the reg...also the Camden Aquarium, I'm on the waiting list as a volunteer scuba diver. It seems worth having to go to Camden for.
