Discolored myc

So my tray is pinning, but my mycelium is yellowing a little bit, and some pins look mutated. Any thoughts? I don't see any mold, it honestly looks like just the color of the myc has changed... but I've heard "If it ain't white, it ain't right" so many times.. I'd probably feel uneasy about eating these shrooms when they're done...

Any thoughts?

looks fine maybe a bit wet.
the "ain't white ain't right" basically applies to new growth, mycelium can bruise and so on, mold rarely looks like cube mycelium.

Looks fine to me. Yes you have some mutants. It just looks like some of the mycelium is dying. It just means it's putting the effort into your current pins. Looks like u got a lot of side pins too. I would suggest more misting and fanning to give it nutes, also what are your current temps? My tubs also yellowed when my temps were 75+, the shrooms came out amazing though and it gave me 4 flushes.

Temps are usually between 60 and 70, but I have it above my cabinets near the ceiling, and I've noticed it's always much warmer up there when I go to check on it (rising heat). I waited until I saw primordia to start fanning/misting, and by the time I opened the lid for the first time, the myc was already yellowing, and the substrate had shrunk a little bit.

After a quick search I found Yellow mycelium. It means the substrate is too dry so you need to mist more. I am also curious to see if temperature plays a role too. I shall experiment

Looks too dry. What are you fruiting this in? If it's a GH, check your RH. If it's a SGFC, mist more often and heavier.

Yeah, I saw that thread too, those pics just looked a bit different than mine.

It's a tray in a small monotub, and it certainly is too dry, I realize that the substrate isn't supposed to shrink like that. I've been misting the walls/lid 3x/day. Should I try misting the tray directly? Inject distilled water? Tmethyl said just to dunk after the first flush.

A tray like that belongs in a SGFC. It's never going to generate enough humidity in a mono like that. Move it over to one and then mist and fan. You'll see much better results.

I don't have sgfc at hand. I was going to do a real monotub, but a few of my spawn jars were compromised, so I decided to make a tray instead. I had already built my monotub, and I read that trays would work just fine in one, but I guess I'll know better next time!
