Yeah it's not like I enjoy hating The Who. It's more like a curse cause I just get pissed off whenever I inadvertently hear them
Lol @ Foreigner. What a ridiculous band. So far removed from my musical sensibility. It's very odd to consider the headspace that comes up with music like that haha.

I like Journey. I do not know rock and/or roll very well.

I can listen in small amounts, but I could never listen to a whole album

Journey or rock music in general? That statement applies to both for me.

journey. I love rock music. I was raised on Rolling Stones, Zep, Floyd, Beatles. I don't like "metal" rock music much at all anymore though. I did when I used to be an angry young man.

When I was an angry young teenager, I listened to industrial: Pigface, Revolting Cocks, Ministry, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Prick, etc. Around 14 I started listening to electronic music, and by 17 about 90% of my listening habits were of that sort.
I still love electronic music, but I'm really into other stuff like sound scores from movies (Ennio Moriconne, Fabio Frizzi, Harry Manfredini, Bernard Herrman, etc.) and 80s pop music.

When I was growing up I used to think that music had been on a decline since the era of classic rock, only listened to Zep/floyd etc. completely disinterested and even looked down on electronic music etc.
But now electronic music is like the most interesting thing in my life, and most of my musical diet is from like 2000 onward.
I can genuinely dig most genres though.

Yeah, I like a little something from all music, but I still listen mostly to electronic music. I like stuff that's bass-oriented, I like breakbeats, minimal techno, experimental, grime. I used to like house music before I moved near Chicago. Used to.

I can't stand house. Most 4 to floor music such as that is revolting to me, though I do enjoy some good psytrance in small dosages.
I listen to mostly idm/experimental shit, dnb, breakcore and whatnot, but I can dig a shitload of various genres, there's just too many to mention. Most of them have something to offer.
I lean towards downtempo and glitch with the music that I make, though I think it finds somewhat of a gray area

This is me right now. I don't even listen to the radio anymore, just hunt each week for new electronic music instead, and it has been that way now for a couple years. Apparently some people think I'm some sort of music elitist because I listen mainly to this and don't really care for rock music much anymore.

No you're not.
What kind of EDM do you like? I know of a ton of great mixes.

The electronic genre is the shit. I've been the same way. Since I was 15 I phased out from rock to electronic/etc.
There are sooo many that I like, its hard to even begin to start

It was different when I got into things in the mid-nineties. We didn't have mp3's and internet radio/podcasts. Mostly you had to go to raves and get mixtapes.

Yeah I suppose my generation got lucky for portable music.
Nothing beats going out though and hearing that bass beat the whole dance floor

Meh, it's a young man's game. By 2000 I was burnt out on raves, but still loved the music so I bought my own DJ gear and just started playing tunes with my friends.

Oh god I hate subgenres. I like SOME dubstep, glitch, electro hip-hop, psy-trance, breakbeat, bass, my tastes are kind of all over the place I guess you could say.
But the styles I like most are similar to that of the artists on the Pretty Lights record label, if that helps any, but I'm definitely not limited to that. That's just the sound that I tend to go for usually.
Here's some examples:

Yeah, I'm not going to watch all those untitled vids. Lately I've been really digging this mix by DJ Heartthrob (minimal techno- I believe he releases tracks on the Minus label) and I revisited Adam Freeland's 'On Tour' mix (nu-breaks), which 11 years later still sounds real fresh.

Lol didn't really expect you to watch them all the way through, just thought you might be familiar with some of them.
