people still see it on the main page. People should get to read this over other shit, I prefer to see things like this at the top during the slow hours when there's not so many questions. At the very least it's way better than the stickies

LOL... a lot of people, including you, still have it unhidden on our thread list. I still link to it because its a good write-up. Good info is good info no matter what. It's as good a place as any to ask pasteurization questions.

I pasteurized 12 coir/verm/gypsum substrate jars per this tek yesterday (kept at 155-165 for an hour), and when I got down to picking out a which jars to birth vs. G2G, I found some contams. (any insight you can provide on that thread would be swell).
I've looked around, but I can't find a solid answer... how long would these jars keep? I can cover the GE hole to prevent drying out, or add water and re-pasteurize down the road if needed, I just want to avoid wasting these (probably just $2.75, but i'm a principled individual!)

I was wondering if it matters what temp you fill up the pot with for pasturizing. I used cold and it takes a long time to get up to temp.
Can I use warm or hot water or is it better to use cold and let the temp slowly rise?
Awesome info. Thanks for taking the time to share.
