I am assuming this is cob web mold?? So far I've misted my FC with straight peroxide 3 times (approximatly every 12 hours). I fan after each spray also. And it seems to be going away. The darker spots on the cakes are bruising from picking some big ones. I'm not ready to give up on my cakes yet!!! Hope someone can help please.

I'm on a cell phone. But I Don't see cobweb only fuzzy aeriel mycelium due to low FAE. Wait for more opinions.
Cobweb is grey and never grows in clumps like that. It almost never attacks fully colonized cakes. But if it does it will cover the surface of an entire substrate in 24 hours. Its fast.

That's not cobweb, just mycelium in my opinion. I've seen this caused by low FAE or genetics even.

I don't think my pics are very clear. There is grey fuzzy growth at the base of a couple of my cakes. Can mycelium be grey? If it is cob web, should I go ahead and dunk them all together anyway? Or leave out the cakes w abnormal growth? Wouldn't peroxide be the right defense against cob web? Advice still needed please.

If its grey its cobweb. Use peroxide once then increase FAE heavily for a few days. Cobweb hates fresh air and is curable.Do not dunk infected cakes with clean cakes. Dunk infected cakes in a Ziploc full of water rinse them before and after dunk to wash off most of the cobweb spores.

Okay. I quit spraying my cakes all together and increased fanning. Also have 2 fans running in same room w FC to increase FAE. The mold seems to have stopped spreading but I can't be sure. For that reason I'm dunking them all together. I'm going to dunk them tonight or tomorrow night. My question is about rinsing. Can I rinse them in my bathroom sink? Or would it be worth my trouble to rinse them over a bowl w bottled water? Our water is very hard. I will be dunking them in bottled water. And do you have any experience w using peroxide in a dunk or maybe for a pre-dunk rinse? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Tap water is fine. Even if its chlorinated. Peroxide is detrimental to mycelium and stunts growth. Only use in emergency.

Thanks for the info! I'll skip the peroxide.
