Some information that can be useful when ordering online and information fellow Aussies may not know.
Customs Act 1991 Section 205 – Requirement to serve seizure notices. (1) After goods have been seized under a seizure warrant or under subsection 203B(2) or (2A), 203C(2), 203CA(3) or 203CB(2), the responsible person must serve, within 7 days after the seizure, a seizure notice on the owner of the goods or, if the owner cannot be identified after reasonable inquiry, on the person in whose possession or under whose control the goods were when they were seized. (2) Subsection (1) applies whether or not a claim for the return of the goods seized has been made under section 205B. (3) The notice must be in writing and must be served:

You again.....
BTW. Yes it is required by law that people get seizure notices. This is the case for the US and Canada too. However in ALL the times I have had items seized in Canada, I have never gotten a notice. This is items with tracking numbers so I could see they were stuck in customs.
The last one seized was years ago when I ordered cactus powder (which isn't illegal here but Mescaline is). They seized that and after a few months of it being stuck in customs and no note, I called up customs and asked what was up (No it wasn't from my own phone). Apparently it "contained a controlled substance" and I should be receiving a seizure notice. Now 2 years later and I still do not have a seizure notice. The best way to avoid scammers is not to order from some random person, use safeorscam to determine the validity of a vendor, and if the item is expensive enough have tracking. (Just check it from behind an anonymous VPS but NOT tor).

Hello to you too!
Safe or scam isnt as trustworthy as it seems.
Canada laws and Customs are different besides being two different country's, one under its own rule and the other is only a British 'colony'. Now speaking from personal experience i have always received seizure notices for banned objects that i never recived. From a firearm import(slingshots are illegal here) to controlled poisons (e-cig). AS FOR Canada i cannot comment as i have no experience with them.

Both are commonwealth nations. Both have the Queen as a figure head yet nothing more.

Interesting, i was under the impression it was its own with ancestral ties to France.
Australia customs are more strict due to possibility of pest and diseases that dont exist here than can cripple our agricultural industry and economy.
**edit**
