Yum, I'll definitely take some of that.
I have a biker buddy from the old days. He still rides and owns three Harleys. Anyway he's an amazing cook. Twice a month we get together for dinner. Every other time at the other guys house and we cook gourmet dinners for each other. We're both single so don't usually cook like that but it's really been fun. We've been doing it for about a year now. I think he's really a much better cook than I am. Some of the stuff he makes is to die for. It funny as hell seeing this huge muscle bound dood with long hair down his back and biker tats with an apron on at the stove.

They take halusky dough and deep fry it, toss it in rosemary oil.
It kind of comes out like miniature hush-puppies.

Is that a deep fried hamburger?
You are my hero!
I'm having Chili Dogs.. I made a pot of chili two days ago and I'm not about to eat another bowl just by its self..
Tomorrow = Chili for lunch with an anti-acid chaser and a chili and cheddar burger for supper. It should all be gone by then.
Halusky Fries.. I recently bought a ricer just for making gnocchi and still haven't made any fried...
Great, now I want a deep fryer.

Citrus & curry marinaded chicken (for the husband) or tofu (for me) with chick pea "stew" (garbanzos, red bell pepper, tomatoes, garam masala . . .)
(I'm trying desperately to approximate some Indian flavours! We are 4 hours from the nearest Indian restaurant.)
And, of course, more banana bread!

Lol, if you ever bought a deep fryer it would shorten your life expectancy in half.

Tonight I BBQ some London Broil and also made some mash potatoes.
Is it me or does steak taste better when cooked on charcoal?

Are you KIDDING ME??! For roasting meat there is NO BETTER way than to use real charcoal fire. I use an egg-type kamodo and always make an indirect fire with briquettes or lump and add a piece of seasoned hardwood (cherry, apple, alder, maple, birch, beech, plum, peach) just prior to setting the meat on the grill.
Problem is getting the fire just right and doing it up low and slow is an all day event and barely worth it unless you're cooking for someone more than just yourself. IMHO. So what Icelander said made sense-- I can understand bachelor dudes hanging out and cooking for eachother because it takes so much effort and energy to make a nice meal the mess hardly justifies itself to feed only one person. I feel this way myself, anyhow
tonight it was another chicken quarter oven roasted in the truffle seasoned duckfat/bacon grease with some garam marsala-- When the chicken was done I ripped it up by hand (returning the rendered fat to the seasoned fat container) and served it along side some slices of roast beet, and a braised warm salad of red chard and kale with toasted sesame seeds tossed in a rice vinegar, tamari, and sesame oil dressing.

they taste like gasoline or something lol yuck.
Natural coals left over from firewood are super good though!
