breakfast! (lunch? dinner?  it's the first thing i've eaten all day.)

decided to make myself a grilled cheese sandwich... with sharp cheddar, pastrami, grilled red onion, and two over easy eggies.

It's burnt!  I'd still eat it!:homerdrool:  I enjoy a bit of burnt on some things.

I don't know what is for dinner yet.  I'll figure that out after I get home and have some vodka tonics.

Well, not burnt burnt, but a bit beyond the Maillard reaction on the bread(idk what else the black stuff would be), and that's okay!  It is just slight, but lighting aside, there really appears to be burnt there.  I wouldn't send it back if I ordered it somewhere.

Just having my first vodka tonic after some wine and a couple beers.
What did you grill it on?  Did you use butter or an oil?

i used butter and cast iron.  but really it did not look that dark in real life and was not what i would consider overdone for my personal preferences.

I thought you at least used cast iron.  It does come across a bit burnt there, but of course you were there and made the thing so it is all good.
I feel like I may have offended your cooking and/or photography skills and now I owe you some Tillamook Cheddar or something.

Today's lunch. Nettle soup.

Fresh nettles collected today.
Was going to save the half that was left for tomorrow, but it was just too moreish.

I bagged some roots that I inadvertently pulled up as I was picking the tops and potted them up when I got home, been meaning to do that for years. I'll now have a supply even closer than the local sheep fields.

NOTHING....!

I am fasting for three days.  Nothing to eat and only water to drink.  A three day fast is all that I can do right now but 5 days is really the best for cleansing the body.

Omg I had some of the best homemade hamburgers last night. Professional chefs say it's sacrilegious to put stuff in the meat but I contest that they are wrong!!

Chopped up mushrooms, bell pepper, onion, and habenero, with the seeds. Sautéed and threw in a couple packets of papa johns red pepper flakes we had laying around. Once browned I let it cool rapidly in the freezer, then added angus beef and crumbled feta cheese, mixed it all up and topped the formed patties with the first rub I could find. Charred both sides and grubbed!!

So hot, tender, juicy and delicious! I swear I'll take pics next time
