I was waiting to see if someone came up with a rye picture. Here is a sack of about 3 pounds from the local health food store. I think the the label on the bin said "organic rye berries."

We needed that. Try to get a close up too (out of bag) if you have a decent camera. Just a handfull is plenty. Fully appreciated Headache, was your local store Earth Origins?
And thank you DocD I always wondered if hay would work. Its so hard to find straw in my area but hay is plentiful.

Gypsum! Gypsum will definitely increase yields when added to horse manure, or ANY other substrate for that matter. Calcium and sulfur are both nutrients used in mushroom fruitbody formation. In addition, gypsum prevents the wild swings in pH we often see as the mushroom mycelium colonizes a substrate. Use it at 5% to 10% by volume - Tmethyl

I use agricultural gypsum from outgrow too. In fact I buy everything from Out Grow cause Mike is a great dude and local
Although I believe Gypsum is not needed for horse manure. Mainly for things like coir which are calcium deficient.
So to make a slight correction, Gypsum is not really needed for Horse Manure. you can use it but results show its really best suited for things other then Horse Manure(which gives several flushes on its own and has enough calcium for fruit formation without additives.)
I was debating the idea with Gretchen in chat and it seems she is right
Nice write up dude you put a lot of time into this I see.

So ugly and disgusting yet so beautiful and informative. Thank you Cyn and TL. Your contributions are fully appreciated.
Can't wait to get home and start organizing them. Yeast is quite uncommon I've had it one time on grain one time on agar and one on my wife.

I've got another picture of pre-spore trich in a monotub. Just need to see if they're any good. I took them when I was wasted, right before dumping it in the garden.

Out-grow is amazing, I use them for all my supplies, and I use thesporedepot.com for any spores or cultures, they kick ass too.
I got all the info for the Gypsum from RR, he definitely recommends using it on horse manure. Though you're right, manure isn't deficient in calcium or sulfur (such as coir). But it still benefits from gypsum just as any substrate would, not just from the nutrition but because of the PH buffering.

I have put a lot of time and work here, and I plan to continue doing so, I'm far from satisfied Thanks for the kind words and the motivation.

Alright all new pics and descriptions added.
Need some more clear shots of a properly constructed SGFC, and other fruiting chambers. More mutant pics.
Etc, etc.
I will get started on the Pro Tips section right now.

I decided to call it Tips and Tricks, I was planning on getting tips from Trusted Cultivators only, but I think I'll collect tips from everyone instead, and highlight the tips from TC's.
Threw together a graphic for the section:
