With training and proper adjustment of the firearm all of those things are practically not an issue. you need to properly adjust the gas tube and also lean into the recoil. failure to feeds happen when the user lets the recoil knock them back too much or if the gas tube is not adjusted properly for the loads. With the bullpup conversion it is much more wieldable.

Additionally, the man originally was looking for a decent hunting gun. If you know anyone that hunts with a Saiga, please let me know. They're built for combat, or potentially the zombie apocalypse, but not for going quail or grouse hunting, or for bringing down a deer.
plenty of people hunt with a saiga, if its good enough for combat of course its more than good enough for hunting. plus you have an excellent self defense shotgun

Lastly, most states have a limit of 3 rounds for a hunting shotgun. As far as I know, a magazine that small doesn't even exist for the gun, basically disqualifying it from the competition...
there are 2 and 3 round magazines that ive seen.
anyways... im just saying, OP will do what;s best for him.
another good shotgun company is mossberg.

Yeah, you've gotta hunt with 3 shells (the plug in) if you're hunting a game bird. But yeah, I don't see those shot guns being good hunting guns, either. Dunno, that's just my opinion.

Saiga is the Russian Mossberg 500.
Both are workhorses and both go bang but ... ??? Well???? Aaaaawwwwwhhhh HELL!..
It's true, one shotgun isn't much better than another. Other than ergononimics and adaptability, they are still just a hammer and a tube. Anyone in prision could build a decent skeet and trap gun out of bed parts.
